Your documents are ready for printing as pdf or jpeg files?

Our system accepts only Acrobat Distiller PDF files (www.adobe.com). All other file types will be refused: you will not be able to upload them.

Attention : We do not advise you to send PDF files that have been exported from Word, Excel, Powerpoint or Publisher. These programs frequently have problems incorporating type-faces and leading to certain characters printing incorrectly.

Procedure :

  • No imposition
Do not do your own imposition (only one side or page per file).
  • Add a border of at least 5mm (background colour)
all around your document to avoid problems when cropping. In the absence of a border, we will be forced to to add a white border ourselves Example: if the finished document is to measure 148x105mm, your file should measure 158x115mm.
  • Cropping lines
When preparing your document include cropping lines.
  • 3 mm margins
Allow for at least 3mm of margin between the text and the edges of the document. This precaution is absolutely necessary to avoid the loss or stretching of text when cropping.
  • 300 DPI
Recommended image resolution: At least 300 DPI (depending on the size of the document). Be aware that photos downloaded from the internet are often of inferior quality (72 DPI) and will appear pixelated when printed. Be aware that when an image of 300 DPI is doubled in size, its new resolution will be 150 DPI... Be particularly careful with large printing formats.
  • CMJN (cyan magenta yellow key (black))
All documents must be saved in CMYK (Cyan Magenta Yellow Key (Black)) mode and NEVER RGB!! Coyoteprint will automatically convert RGB (Red Green Blue) images into CMYK. Colour on computer monitors are reproduced using RGB mode. Colours on professional printers are produced using CMYK mode. In other words the colour on your monitor is always slightly different to that of a printed document. Coyoteprint does not accept Pantone colours, images in LAB mode or with indexed colours (they will come out in greyscale).
  • Scale
The files must be supplied in the exact dimensions of the required final document.
  • Verification
We will not verify the information contained in your files. We thus cannot be held responsible for inferior image resolution, spelling mistakes, incorrect cropping, etc.

If you have any questions do not hesitate to contact one of our staff-members by email at graphics@coyoteprint.com

A popular electronic document format. It embeds all typeface, graphic and page layout information into the one compact file. Its appearance won't change regardless of computer platform or printer. This makes it ideal for proofing work electronically.
US company invented prepress softwares (such as ; Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign), Postscript language, and PDF.
Border-wrapping involves a solid colour border (usually matching a colour tone from the main image) being printed around the edge of the wooden frame. The physical image remains on the front of your canvas print. Border-wrapping produces the most effective canvas prints when the subjects in the picture are close to the edge of the frame.
A browser is an application program that provides a way to look at and interact with all the information on the World Wide Web.
8 bits.

Short for Cyan-Magenta-Yellow-Black, and pronounced as separate letters. CMYK is a color model in which all colors are described as a mixture of these four process colors. CMYK is the standard color model used in offset printing for full-color documents. Because such printing uses inks of these four basic colors, it is often called four-color printing.
A colour profile refers to the way in which a particular printer or computer monitor interprets the range of colours present in an image. Mismatched colour profiles can result in a consumer receiving a different result from the printing device than suggested by the output on the screen. Colour profiles can also refer to small files that can help you calibrate your computer to those of the canvas printer.
For a very large majority of our products, if you place your order before Tuesday 12 O'clock AM, Coyoteprint will garanty a delivery, the same week on Friday after noon. For more details, do nort hesistate to call us.
To copy data (usually an entire file) from a main source to a peripheral device. The term is often used to describe the process of copying a file from an online service or bulletin board service (BBS) to one's own computer. Downloading can also refer to copying a file from a network file server to a computer on the network.
In addition, the term is used to describe the process of loading a font into a laser printer. The font is first copied from a disk to the printer's local memory. A font that has been downloaded like this is called a soft font to distinguish it from the hard fonts that are permanently in the printer's memory.
The opposite of download is upload, which means to copy a file from your own computer to another computer.
DPI (dots per inch) is a measurement of printer resolution, though it is commonly applied, somewhat inappropriately, to monitors, scanners and even digital cameras.
For printers, the DPI specification indicates the number of dots per inch that the printer is capable of achieving to form text or graphics on the printed page. The higher the DPI, the more refined the text or image will appear. To save ink, a low DPI is often used for draft copies or routine paperwork. This setting might be 300 or even 150 DPI. High resolution starts at 600 DPI for standard printers, and can far exceed that for color printers designed for turning out digital photography or other high-resolution images.
Printing on both sides of a sheet of paper is known as duplex printing.
Short for digital versatile disc or digital video disc, a type of optical disk technology similar to the CD-ROM. A DVD holds a minimum of 4.7GB of data, enough for a full-length movie. DVDs are commonly used as a medium for digital representation of movies and other multimedia presentations that combine sound with graphics.

The DVD specification supports disks with capacities of from 4.7GB to 17GB and access rates of 600KBps to 1.3 MBps. One of the best features of DVD drives is that they are backward-compatible with CD-ROMs, meaning they can play old CD-ROMs, CD-I disks, and video CDs, as well as new DVD-ROMs. Newer DVD players can also read CD-R disks. DVD uses MPEG-2 to compress video data.
A firewall is a set of related programs, located at a network gateway server, that protects the resources of a private network from users from other networks.
Flash is a vector animation software, originally designed to create animations for display on web pages. Vector graphics are ideal for the web because they are so lightweight.
File Transfer Protocol (FTP), a standard Internet protocol, is the simplest way to exchange files between computers on the Internet.
Pronounced jiff or giff (hard g) stands for graphics interchange format, a bit-mapped graphics file format used by the World Wide Web, CompuServe and many BBSs. GIF supports color and various resolutions. It also includes data compression, but because it is limited to 256 colors, it is more effective for scanned images such as illustrations rather than color photos.
If requested (+10 €), our graphical designers will check your files. If they find any problems they will contact you.
This is a security software to individual computers or networks with contact to the internet, it avoids catching viruses or unauthorized access to protected system.
HTML, an initialism of HyperText Markup Language, is the predominant markup language for web pages. It provides a means to describe the structure of text-based information in a document - by denoting certain text as links, headings, paragraphs, lists, and so on - and to supplement that text with interactive forms, embedded images, and other objects. HTML is written in the form of tags, surrounded by angle brackets. HTML can also describe, to some degree, the appearance and semantics of a document, and can include embedded scripting language code (such as JavaScript) which can affect the behavior of Web browsers and other HTML processors.
Adobe Illustrator is a powerful brand of software used to create vector graphics. It is the industry standard, and countless professional designers from around the world create and edit graphics using Adobe Illustrator. Originally made only for Macintosh, Illustrator is now available for both Windows and Macintosh computers
Imposition is a term used in the printing industry. Print operators will print books using large sheets of paper which will be folded later. This allows for faster printing, simplified binding, and lower production costs. Imposition is the process of arranging pages correctly prior to printing so that they fold in the correct order. To someone unfamiliar with the imposition process, the pages may seem to be arranged randomly; but after printing, the paper is folded, bound and trimmed. If correctly imposed, the pages should all appear in the correct orientation and readable sequence.
Is a non-impact printing process whereby fluid ink is projected from a nozzle directly onto a material to form the desired image.
1 inch = 2,54 centlmeters.
The latest, state-of-the-art software from Adobe for publication design and layout. Design & Print, Inc. supports InDesign software.
JPEG stands for Joint Photographic Experts Group, the original name of the committee that wrote the standard.
JPEG is designed for compressing either full-color or gray-scale images of natural, real-world scenes.
JPEG standards help image files to be compressed to around five percent of their original size, though some details are lost during compression. The commonly used file extensions for th JPEG format are .jpg, .jpeg, .jfif, .or jpe.
This process coats the printed sheet with an extremely thin layer of either glossy or matt plastic. It should not be confused with encapsulation which uses much thicker plastic, and which extends beyond the edges of the item being encapsulated.

The advantages of lamination are that it provides a highly professional, extra smooth finish, as well as protecting the paper or card surface from markings such as fingerprints and scratches caused by everyday handling.

Lamination also removes the danger (which is otherwise present) that ink in heavy ink coverage areas may come off slightly if rubbed. Additionally, lamination is especially recommended if the design in question features a dark colour which bleeds, in order to preserve clean edges where the dark ink meets any very slight roughness in the edges of the paper or card itself. (You can learn more about this by searching for "lamination" in our help centre).
Mac OS X is a unique "Apple" operating system.
1024 Kilobytes
An operating system (sometimes abbreviated as "OS") is the program that, after being initially loaded into the computer by a boot program, manages all the other programs in a computer. The other programs are called applications or application programs. The application programs make use of the operating system by making requests for services through a defined application program interface (API). In addition, users can interact directly with the operating system through a user interface such as a command language or a graphical user interface (GUI).
A popular color matching system used by the printing industry to print spot colors. Most applications that support color printing allow you to specify colors by indicating the Pantone name or number. This assures that you get the right color when the file is printed, even though the color may not look right when displayed on your monitor.
"PDF" (Portable Document Format) is Adobe Acrobat format. PDF is a proprietary format that allows you to read electronic documents, either on or off line. This format provides a page-by-page view of documents, exactly as they appear in their printed form, as well as allowing keyword search.
Adobe Photoshop is one of the most powerful image modification programs on the market today. It is widely used throughout the world (Mac and PC).
The pixel (a word invented from "picture element") is the basic unit of programmable color on a computer display or in a computer image. Think of it as a logical - rather than a physical - unit. The physical size of a pixel depends on how you've set the resolution for the display screen. If you've set the display to its maximum resolution, the physical size of a pixel will equal the physical size of the dot pitch (let's just call it the dot size) of the display. If, however, you've set the resolution to something less than the maximum resolution, a pixel will be larger than the physical size of the screen's dot (that is, a pixel will use more than one dot).

The specific color that a pixel describes is some blend of three components of the color spectrum - RGB. Up to three bytes of data are allocated for specifying a pixel's color, one byte for each major color component. A true color or 24-bit color system uses all three bytes. However, many color display systems use only one byte (limiting the display to 256 different colors).
TrueType is a digital font technology designed by Apple Computer, and now used by both Apple and Microsoft in their operating systems. Microsoft has distributed millions of quality TrueType fonts in hundreds of different styles, including them in its range of products and the popular TrueType Font Packs.

TrueType fonts offer the highest possible quality on computer screens and printers, and include a range of features which make them easy to use.
The process of getting an image ready to go on press.
Do not forget the following important points : Verify that your files are high definition for the printer, provided with page break lines, that your fonts and images are included and that it is not saved with compression (300 DPI CMJN). Do not create any layouts yourself with Word or Illustrator Software (RGB).

If the file is created correctly, you will never be charged any additional costs. Any inadequacy of one of these points requiring the intervention of a Coyoteprint graphic designer may constitute the object of invoicing on the basis of an hourly rate of € 55 excl. VAT.

Coyoteprint recommends you to verify the following points :
  • Add at least a 5 mm margin to each side of your document, to prevent any problems with cropping. In the absence of a margin, we will have to include a white outline.
Attention : if you do not include a margin, no complaint is possible regarding cropping problems which are inevitable if you do not comply with this technical constraint (particularly for printing cards or leaflets on 350 g).
  • Avoid placing the text too close to the margins to prevent it being cropped, leave at least 3 mm. Attention : if you place text or graphic elements too close to your document's margin, no complaints are possible regarding cropping problems which are inevitable if you do not comply with this technical constraint.
  • Coyoteprint recommends you to create your images at 300 DPI (depending on the size of your document).
Attention : You may send us images with lower resolution but the printing quality will also be lower, Coyoteprint will consequently accept no responsibility for this.
  • Coyoteprint recommends you to save your images in CMJN (CMYB?) mode (Cyan Magenta Yellow Black)
Attention : Coyoteprint shall automatically adapt images sent in RGB format (Red Green Blue) into CMYB. Colours on computer screens are shown in RGB format. The colours on the production machines are shown according to CMYB format. In other words, a colour on your screen will always differ slightly from those on the printed object. Coyoteprint does not accept pantone shades, or images in the LAB format or indexed colours (grey-scale).
A general term for a variety of options for seeing what your file will look like when printed is a proof. Printing proofs are used for checking that all text and graphics and colors come out as expected before going to press. A prepress proof uses ink jets, dyes, overlays or other methods to simulate the final printed piece. A press proof uses the printing plates and inks specified for the job.
PostScript is a programming language optimized for printing graphics and text (whether on paper, film, or CRT is immaterial). In the jargon of the day, it is a page description language. It was introduced by Adobe in 1985 and first (to my knowledge) appeared in the Apple LaserWriter. The main purpose of PostScript was to provide a convenient language in which to describe images in a device independent manner.
Page layout software for design and publishing professionals.
Resolution is measured in megapixels
The RGB color model is an additive color model in which red, green, and blue light are added together in various ways to reproduce a broad array of colors. The name of the model comes from the initials of the three additive primary colors, red, green, and blue.

The main purpose of the RGB color model is for the sensing, representation, and display of images in electronic systems, such as televisions and computers, though it has also been used in conventional photography. Before the electronic age, the RGB color model already had a solid theory behind it, based in human perception of colors.

Typical RGB input devices are color TV and video cameras, image scanners, and digital cameras. Typical RGB output devices are TV sets of various technologies (CRT, LCD, plasma, etc.), computer and handy devices' displays, video projectors...
raster image processor (RIP) is a component used in a printing system which produces a bitmap. The bitmap is then sent to a printing device for output. The input may be a page description in a high-level page description language such as PostScript, Portable Document Format, XPS or another bitmap of higher or lower resolution than the output device. In the latter case, the RIP applies either smoothing or interpolation algorithms to the input bitmap to generate the output bitmap.

Raster image processing is the process and the means of turning vector digital information such as a PostScript file into a high-resolution raster image.
The degree of hue in a colour, or a colour's strength. A neutral grey is considered to have zero saturation.
A computer or device on a network that manages network resources. For example, a file server is a computer and storage device dedicated to storing files. Any user on the network can store files on the server. A print server is a computer that manages one or more printers, and a network server is a computer that manages network traffic. A database server is a computer system that processes database queries.

Servers are often dedicated, meaning that they perform no other tasks besides their server tasks. On multiprocessing operating systems, however, a single computer can execute several programs at once. A server in this case could refer to the program that is managing resources rather than the entire computer.
Tagged Image File Format (TIFF) is a variable-resolution bitmapped image format developed by Aldus (now part of Adobe) in 1986. TIFF is very common for transporting color or gray-scale images into page layout applications, but is less suited to delivering web content.

Note the following about TIFF
  • TIFF files are large and of very high quality. Baseline TIFF images are highly portable; most graphics, desktop publishing, and word processing applications understand them.
  • The TIFF specification is readily extensible, though this comes at the price of some of its portability. Many applications incorporate their own extensions, but a number of application-independent extensions are recognized by most programs.
  • Four types of baseline TIFF images are available: bilevel (black and white), gray scale, palette (i.e., indexed), and RGB (i.e., true color). RGB images may store up to 16.7 million colors. Palette and gray-scale images are limited to 256 colors or shades. A common extension of TIFF also allows for CMYK images.
  • TIFF files may or may not be compressed. A number of methods may be used to compress TIFF files, including the Huffman and LZW algorithms. Even compressed, TIFF files are usually much larger than similar GIF or JPEG files.
  • Because the files are so large and because there are so many possible variations of each TIFF file type, few web browsers can display them without plug-ins.

Trimming is the process of cutting a document down to its finished size.
To transmit data from a computer to a bulletin board service, mainframe, or network. For example, if you use a personal computer to log on to a network and you want to send files across the network, you must upload the files from your PC to the network.
The Windows operating system, like the Macintosh and Linux OSes, allows people to manage files and run software programs on desktop and laptop computers.
A technical definition of the World Wide Web is: all the resources and users on the Internet that are using the Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP).
A ZIP file is simply a file filled with information, data or documents that have been through a compression process to minimize the size of the files making them quicker to download, easier to archive and more likely to be received via electronic mail because the compressed format takes up less storage space and uses fewer system resources.
